Success stories from Hardi
Hardi is still the best! Kunau Implements in Iowa is now run by Daniel Kunau, the second generation of the Kunau family. The family originally came from Femern in Germany, but emigrated to the USA and started selling agricultural machinery.
“The Hardi sprayer is a really good machine. To begin with Hardi was way ahead of its competitors in the industry, but now the competition is tougher. Hardi is still the best, and this year has been extremely good with many different Hardi products selling well,” says Daniel Kunau, who has 15 employees in his business, which is located in the middle of a large farming district near Davenport.

Like many others, the farmer Dale Fisher from Maysville in Iowa is growing maize and
soybeans in crop rotation. In addition to his own crops, he helps neighbouring farmers
by spraying their crops against various pests.
Eats up the hectares Dale Fisher runs his family-owned farm in Maysville, Iowa. Like many other farmers in the Midwest, he grows maize and soybeans in crop rotation. In addition to his own farm, he helps neighbouring farmers by spraying their crops against various pests.
“My Hardi Navigator is fitted with a 4,400-litre-tank and a 32-metre conventional boom. I can spray 200-250 hectares a day, with each tankful covering 30 hectares. The on-board GPS guidance system makes it easy to drive the machine and simultaneously spray the plant protection products effectively. It is increasingly commonplace, even on smaller farms, to have your own field sprayer. It is vitally important that any crop pests are spotted in good time so you can take the necessary steps, using the right product at just the right time,” says Dale Fisher.
When spraying, the sprayer moves at about 30 km per hour.
